Children’s Payment Options

Children are a cornerstone of our care provision at Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry in Sevenoaks! The children’s visits to the Practice are so important because we all want our children to be able to grow up with happy, healthy teeth and mouths.

Regular attendance at Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry will help us to help the children and their parents to give them the best start in life with healthy, tooth decay free teeth, a beautiful smile and the confidence to look after it for years to come.

Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry does not have an NHS contract due to Government Policy and is unfortunately not able to offer NHS treatments directly for our children patients. It does not prevent us from regularly utilising the NHS referral system for treatments such as Orthodontic treatment where the children’s teeth/ bite can qualify for NHS Orthodontic treatment. Private treatments are also available where appropriate.

One of the biggest advantages of being outside the NHS framework is that we are able to spend the most precious commodity in Healthcare with the children – Time.

We encourage our children patients to attend in our children’s clinic sessions where, for only £12 we will take time to carefully examine your children’s teeth and take the time to ensure that they are cleaning their teeth effectively and regularly.

We actively encourage the parents to attend with their children as the younger ones cannot be expected to do it alone. The daily supervision and the help of parents is essential. We will also discuss healthy diet and curbing habits that could disrupt the developing smile.

Many children enjoy active and busy extra curricular lifestyles and they may not be able to attend during our reserved children’s sessions so we can offer appointments at other times with a 30% discount on the adult examination fee.

We will encourage the use of quality toothpastes and guide you with advice about managing tooth brushing and the most appropriate toothbrushes to use.

We advocate the use of fluoride coatings to help make teeth more resistant to acid attack in the diet and can help with the application of fissure sealants that protect the harder to get to areas of tooth shape and form.

It’s all about prevention because tooth decay and gum disease are preventable diseases and good habits learnt in the early years can be reinforced regularly to make healthy adult dentitions.

Where intervention is required, we want to address it early and quickly – regular attendance will help us to pick up on the warning signs quickly and help parents to look out for these potential pitfalls. It’s a family affair and all about teamwork at Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry!

If fillings/ restorations are required, or extractions are needed as part of Orthodontic treatments, we can offer a range of treatments at a significantly reduced fee compared to our Private fee scale.

Many adult patients enjoy membership of a capitation system of dental care and support. Well known providers of such systems such as Denplan and DPAS enable patients to access most forms of dental treatment and support in the United Kingdom and with world wide dental insurance cover.

The cost is individually calculated on a transparent and detailed risk assessment of each patients’ dental health and dental history.

The cost is spread over 12 months with 12 monthly instalments. This allows patients to enjoy Private treatments at Atkinson Brignall Caring Dentistry and to spread the cost of treatments whilst budgeting carefully by spreading the costs over the year.

These same companies also offer children’s payment plans at substantially reduced rates and we can combine cover for families to give that added peace of mind, wherever you are – at home or abroad. Many feel that this gives great peace of mind and takes the stress out of worrying about fees for treatment.
